About the work
The woman photographed for this series is covered from head to toe in healing clay. Evelyn Krull has made use of the studio’s artificial light. The healing clay on the woman’s body, still damp at first, dries quickly in the warmth of the spotlights. Dark smooth areas soon turn into light-coloured brittle surfaces. The close-up of her breast is particularly impressive. It too reveals moist and dry areas. In the centre of the picture, around the nipple, some of the clay has already roughly peeled off the skin with more of it to drop off at any moment.
