About the work
While the small-format studies show the artist Wilhelm Rudolph (1889-1982) deeply immersed in his work, he looks directly at us in the portrait photo. It quickly becomes clear: This is about his artistic personality, not his actual art, which is not discernible in the photographic studies either. Christine Stephan-Brosch’s focus is on how the artist works. She concentrates entirely on the craft of an artist who is firmly committed to his work.
