About the work
Despite the initial language barrier, Tàpies and German-speaking author Alexander Mitscherlich joined creative forces on Sinnieren über Schmutz (Musing about Dirt). The author hand-wrote the text on the lithography stone, while Tàpies contributed nine lithographs for the book. On the LP record enclosed with the book, Mitscherlich recited his own text, by reflecting on political clean-up and sharing his thoughts on the poetry of the accidental.
