About the work
The serigraph was printed as an annual gift of Kölnischer Kunstverein in 1972, four years after the artist's death, in a 250-copy edition based on an oil painting created in 1967. Many of the Thomases‘ memberships in associations are traceable. Further additions of works by Ernst Wilhelm Nay and other artists to the Thomas collection can be proven through the Kunstverein in Hamburg and the Kestner Gesellschaft art association in Hanover.
